Headcanon- Little Strongheart

I drew this back in December and never uploaded it 'cause I never thought to. Since I've been really busy with school and haven't had the time to draw new content just yet, I figured it wouldn' hurt to upload it now. o3o

It's Little Strongheart! Only... you know, not so little anymore. >.>

Did you guys know that Over the Barrel was the first MLP:FiM episode I've ever seen? I was scrolling the channels and saw it on and I got curious, so I watched it, really enjoyed the episode, and I went back to watch the episodes that came before it. In short, while it isn't my favorite episode, Over the Barrel is what introduced me MLP:FiM, and I'm really glad I decided to watch it. c:

Speaking of that episode, I really enjoyed the character Little Strongheart. Her design was cute, for one, and for two I really liked her attitude and personality. I think it'd be kinda nice if the show revisited the character, but I dunno if they have any reason to, so it's whatevs. That's why I'M gonna revisit her! 8D

A long while ago I designed her older appearance and, upon seeing it again, I decided to give it an update. Now she looks  a little more like a buffalo than she previously did, but she's still pretty small for her species. I figured out a little something that could explain that so with that said here's my headcanon on her:

Little Strongheart is the daughter of Chief Thunderhooves and his late wife Mayberry, a holstein cow he married before she passed away from wounds she got from a wolf ambush. As a half-breed, Little Strongheart is smaller than the average buffalo, but her stature doesn't subtract from her prowess as a warrior nor does it undermine her rightful place as next-in-line as Chief of her tribe. What she lacks in brute strength (she's still physically strong) she more than makes up for in being nimble and as quick as a bullet. Pair that up with a quick-thinking mind and a gut-instinct that's rarely wrong, and you have someone who could run circles around most of her opponents.

While Thunderhooves hasn't completely stepped down as leader of the tribe, he has been allowing his daughter to take over more responsibilities concerning political matters, and that includes maintaining the peace between the tribe and the Appleloosians. As such she often visits the little town for this and that, but she usually lingers to spend time with Braeburn.

I'm a go ahead and say that I think the two of them are cute together. Whether that be as BFFs or as a couple (as long as Strongheart is aged up to the appropriate age), it doesn't necessarily matter to me, so it's whatever you guys feel more comfortable with. Either way, they spend lots of time with one another and often like to run through the apple fields.

Buuut yeah. A little something to help me get back into the swing of things. This'll be a very busy year but I think I'm ready for it, but let's leave all that for an update I plan on making in the future.
