Fluffy!AU: The Mane Pets

True to my tendency to make AUs on a drop of a dime... I uh... I made another one. This one was supposed to be something to do on the side simply for fun, every now and then, but then after talking with Arcticwaters and Monochromatic it kinda spiraled from there. I'm actively gonna be working on 3 separate AUs at once. Rip me, we'll see how that goes. :/ More on that later!
 
Anyway, this AU was inspired by Arcticwaters's submission for the RarilightBomb event last week of which you can see HERE. She drew Rarity as a kitty cat and Twilight as a doggo and I just... I couldn't help myself. :I  She and Mono also really helped me figure out some stuff for it!

So! Here's the new AU: The Fluffy!AU, where the Mane 6 are pets and have misadventures together! Here's a bit of information about them:

Twilight: Border Collie/German Shepard mix, younger sister to Shining Armor and the service dog to Spike. Twi is a very intelligent dog whose even taught herself to look for medical distress for Spike after it was discovered he had diabetes. She loves going to the library the most: mostly it’s with Spike but she goes on her own too, where little kids and adults read to her. Very friendly and very curious, Twi is the one who found Rarity one cold night while exploring.

Rarity: Ragdoll cat, Rarity was once a pampered show cat with everything her heart desired: a nice home, ribbons and trophies for miles, recognition, and a sweet girl named Opal who loved her dearly. That all changed when she came in second place in one show, and Opal's parents saw this as a failure. In response to her “loss”, Opal's parents drove miles until they found a stretch of road and just… left her. No collar, no food, no water, just left her. Rarity believes this to be a mistake of some sort: surely her they wouldn’t purposely do this, right? So off she goes, searching, but it winds up with her huddled in a ball, cold and hungry and sick, and being found by a curious and kindly lavender dog.

Pinkie Pie: Hamster and the beloved pet of the Cakes, Pinkie is the face mascot of their bakery! She’s a fearless little critter, more likely to run up to something larger than herself to try and become its friend than she is to run away. Like many other animals in this world, she is allowed free roam around the town of Ponyville, and when she isn’t around the bakery to cuddle up with customers or dance or do tricks in her spinning wheel, she’s off to play with her animal friends. Her favorite’s the super cute yellow bunny who lives with the resident vet.

Fluttershy: Bunny rabbit, the cherished pet of Mayne Fauna Goodall (otherwise known as Dr. Fauna). Like Pinkie, she’s something of a mascot to Fauna’s office, and despite her skittish and shy demeanor she’s an excellent assistant to the vet. She likes to help take care of the other animals, and they in turn love her. It’s a funny sight to see, a tiny bunny sitting atop a large dog’s belly or playing with the bear from the local zoo. Despite her ears being down near constantly, they can stand upright too.

Applejack: Mutt, the BIG BOOF of the Apple family. AJ, along with Big Mac, are herding dogs and they love it; it’s fun to chase down the sheep and cows and make sure they’re in line! The siblings are among the largest dogs in town: they’re so big Apple Bloom can ride on their backs without any trouble. AJ, despite her size, is gentle and friendly and the best cuddlebug you’d meet… though, she sometimes “forgets” she isn’t a lapdog (she knows full well she isn’t, that ain’t gonna stop her from sitting on your lap though). She’s recently been havin’ trouble keeping a troublesome fox from her chickens, though none actually seem to turn up injured or worse. Wonder why that could be?

Rainbow Dash: A wild fox with a penchant for humans and petfolk, Dash likes to be the neighborhood troublemaker. This usually results in her stealing bread and pies from window sills, spooking cows and sheep, and chasing chickens. She’s known as “The Troublesome Tod” to a lot of the local Ponyville locals; she loves it, makes her feel like Robin Hood or somethin’. Lately though she’s taken a strong liking to Scootaloo, a young girl with a prosthetic leg. Scoots originally thought Dash was some sort of weird lookin’ cat that she’s been feeding and cuddling and letting into her house. Apple Bloom had quite the time explaining that she was a fox. Dashie has also taken a major liking toward big dog AJ: she chases her chickens and spooks her herds partly because it’s fun, but mostly because she really likes seeing the dog. That angry pout she does is really cute.

Together the six of them have little adventures, navigating their newfound friendship and the highs and lows that come to them. ^.^
