Preview: The Princesses

Quite a few of you asked if I was going to draw the three Princesses of Equestria. I hope this answers your question. o3o

So, here we finally are. This is how I see our beloved pony princesses, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence. These three will also be seen in Requiem, and they all hold a relatively important role in the story.

So, a little bit about them in the Requiem Universe:

Luna was never banished to the moon. Yes, she turned into Nightmare Moon, and yes, she and Celestia had a bit of a civil war that devastated their country. But, Celestia managed to harness the power of the Elements to remove the dark entity from within her sister and destroy it. Since then, they worked on building Luna's reputation back up after giving an explanation for her sudden violence and agression. A thousand years has past since then.

In the current time of the story, Celestia and Luna both rule their nation equally.

As for Cadence, she was recently born into the royal family and taken under her Aunts' wings.

Now, how I view them in my headcanon. Celestia and Luna are, by definition, ponies. However, since they inherit every sort of magic from all three different types of ponies (and with a significant amount of said magic for each), they are literally some sort of demi-gods. Immortal to age, but they can still die by outside causes. The trick is to get close enough to kill them, and that's IF you can stand up to their might amazing healing capabilities.

Cadence, however... she is NOT an alicorn in this story, nor in my headcanon. Instead, she is a Winged Unicorn, or a pony born with both wings and horn, but does not posess the powers of an Alicorn or their immortality. Winged Unicorns, while not rare, aren't too common either, but not every Winged Unicorn is born into royalty (or become royalty, for that matter). Winged Unicorns harbor the magic of a unicorn and a bit of magic of a pegasus, and earth-pony genes ARE needed somewhere in the family tree in order for this sort of pony to be born, but it's nothing close to god-like.

Cadence is a special case, where her magic is a bit stronger than a normal Winged Unicorn, and she even harbors a tiny level of Earth Pony magic; perhaps it's because she's blood-kin to the princesses. But yeah.

As for their appearances, Alicorns are, for an pony, unnaturally tall, long, and slender. Their wings are huge and wide, larger than the normal wingspan of a pegasus, and their horns are long and have a slight, but noticable, curve to them. They are almost exotic beauties, so to speak.

So, a bit about them in the story:

-Celestia, one of two rulers of Equestria and the keeper of the Day Court and Sun. Celestia is just as she is in the show; loved, admired, respected, as well as friendly, patient, and gentle. But, unbeknownst to many, Celestia has a silver tongue, quick wit, and a legendary poker face, not to mention fantastic acting skills. This allows her to be a rather dangerous pony to face when politics and negotiations are involved, of which is her domain of expertese. Of course, you wouldn't want to try to fight her, either. She is the primary mentor of Twilight Sparkle.

-Luna, one of the two rulers of Equestria and the keeper of the Night Court and Moon. As she is in the show, Luna is sweet, funloving, and mischevious. Just as loved and revered as her older sister... maybe even a little more by those who love the night scene, as she is often seen attending night-clubs and celebrations of the like. But, despite that, she's no slacker, and pulls more than her own weight when co-ruling the nation. Like Celestia, Luna is a master at a particular domain, of which hers would be war. She is a military geniues and leader, sometimes even showing up to lead the charge herself (Celestia is known to do so too, but not as often as Luna). Where Celestia may be the stronger one as far as raw power goes, Luna makes up for it with split-thought strategies and better control. She is the primary mentor of Shining Armor.

-Cadence, princess of Equestria and founder of the Helping Hearts (temporary name) relief effort organization. Even if her Aunts are rulers of Equestria, she is still taught and primed to be a ruler of a country like her alicorn relatives; she even runs a few courts of her own to take the work load off of Celestia and Luna's shoulders. Like in the show, she's a very likable pony with a gentle charm and her heart on her sleeve... or, in this case, flank (bad pun intented). Like her aunts, though, she doesn't like simply sitting and doing nothing most of the time, often out and traveling the world to help other, less fortunate countries any way she can (of which the foundation for the HH Organization was founded). Currently, she is in Collambia with Shining Armor, organizing and running several refugee camps and hospitals to help the civilians caught in the middle of the war there.
