Another preview for Requiem, and I wanted to make this one a little special because it's of the mane 6. :3 So, I asked the ever-so-awesome to color my sketches of them, and he did a fabulous job! Check his stuff out at his gallery:

So yeah, thanks to Volcanico, our girls have their color for this particular preview of the story and I are working on, Requiem. I think most of what was said about our girls was stated in past deviations, in their "Sketch ref" things, but to be fair don't put too much stock into it. The plot's change quite a bit since then, and I won't go back to change the info.

Still, here's a quick overview:

Requiem is sort of a complete retelling of the beginning of MLP, and at the same time, isn't. Similar elements would be Twilight going to Ponyville on a mission (not on a whim) by the princess, introduction of the characters, Luna turning into Nightmare Moon, and attempting to find the elements. But I think that's about where the similarities end, aside from... you know, being a fanfic for MLP. The differences are that Luna was never imprisoned in the moon, there is war, there is death (both of canon characters and oc characters needed for the plot) there is blood and violence and cursing, and Equestria, while peaceful, isn't lacking in its share of crime and violence. Stuff like that. Any more said and it may be a spoiler, so let's move on to the characters.


-Twilight Sparkle, Archmage of the Royal Guard and emissary of the Alicorn Sisters. In this AU, Twilight has a similar backstory to the canon; she took the test to get into the school for gifted unicorns, lost control of her magic, and that resulted in her becoming Celestia's student. But, Celestia offered her a chance to continue her training beyond studying, and eventually she became a strong, high ranking Archmage in Equestria. Because of her experience in war and such, she has a more commanding, straight-forward no-nonsense personality and a realistic outlook of the world, but other than that her personality is pretty much the same from the canon Twi.

Now, because of her occupation, Twilight has met Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Applejack prior to the story, but never actually befriends them until a little later in the actual story. She meets Rainbow and Fluttershy once she goes to Ponyville on her mission.


Also, Spike is still very much her Number 1 assistant/little brother/adopted son, and goes with her anywhere. C:


-Rarity, Owner and Founder of the Carousel Boutique. In this AU, Rarity is, like in the canon, a fashion designer, and a rather successful one at that. Her designs are so popular that, on quite a few occasions, she has received requests to design the ceremonial uniforms for the Equestrian Military and for the Princesses themselves. This would be what led her to meet Twilight Sparkle prior to Requiem. Her personality is relatively the same from the canon.


-Pinkie Pie, renowned Party Planner and a popular baker at the Sugar Cube Corner. She works with all the gusto and energy only she can accomplish while still remaining endearing to most. Which is probably why Sugarcube Corner has garnished more business; despite the war going on in allied territories, the Cakes' heart-warming, understanding aura and Pinkie's infectious optimism and hope keeps moral high among the citizens and returning soldiers that drop by Ponyville. She has the same personality as she does in the show, but in this story (and in my headcanon) Pinkie is far more observant and smarter than what others give her credit for, and can lend surprisingly sound advice/support when it's needed.

Because her baking skills are amazing along with how well she organizes celebrations and events (even the sophisticated ones), she isn't a stranger to being commissioned to do so outside of Ponyville. This will be how she meets Twilight prior to the story.


-Applejack, part of the family owned Sweet Apple Acres business. She's well known for, not only her cooking skills and strength, but also because her family owns one of the best apple business in Equestria. Their apples are second to none and are high in demand, which allows her family to live a relatively good life with a good amount of hard work. Because of this success, Applejack and her family must fight off saboteurs, wild creatures that stumble into their orchard, and bandits when they deliver their goods. Her personality is relatively the same as it is in canon.

Because of her family's apples being high in demand and her cooking skills, she's often working along side Pinkie and, in turn, meets Twilight prior to the story.



-Rainbow Dash, Captain of the Weather Team. As she is in the canon, she's rash, stubborn, short-tempered and sometimes insensitive. But she still the most loyal pony you can ever meet... when you've earn her trust, anyway. In the story, Rainbow Dash's family life wasn't... exactly the healthiest, so much that she often stayed with Fluttershy and her parents until the shy pegasus' folks went ahead and took her in as their second daughter. The two are sisters in all but blood, which leaves Dash really protective of Flutters.

Rainbow Dash, in this story, still works to become a Wonderbolt (which is one of the best squadrons in the Equestrian Air Force) but it's a tad harder to get in because you can't audition and join. That doesn't stop Dashie from working on it, though. c:

She does not meet Twilight prior to the story.


-Fluttershy, Ponyville's beloved local vet (aside from the official veterinary clinic) and animal tamer.
Fluttershy, in this AU, would have a role similar to in the canon; caring for animals of all kinds, domestic or otherwise. Her abilities to calm just about ANY animal isn't exactly secret, and she's been called upon to deal with problems concerning animals, even outside of Ponyville (trips of which is often done along side Rainbow Dash or another of her friends). And, having been best of friends with Rainbow for nearly all of her childhood, she's no stranger to tending to ponies either.

She will not meet Twilight prior to the story, but once she does, she would be somewhat afraid of the unicorn because of the way she carries herself (her scarred appearance doesn't help in the matter, either). This fear will eventually go away as the story progresses, though.

The story is just about ready for it's first draft, too! I'm so excited! If none of you know by now, Requiem is my first real attempt at a more serious fanfic, so wish me luck. D:
