NextGen stoof: PinkieShy brood 1

Another nextgen thing up and ready to go! Pinkie and Fluttershy’s will be posted up today and tomorrow because they have 8 kids, with four being ponies and the other four non-ponies. So with that said, here are their patch of pony kiddies!

First up we have Custard Theodore Pie, the oldest of the Pie-Shy family brood and definitely the sibling with the most authority. When Pinkie and Shy aren’t home, he’s the one who takes up the mantle as “parent”, his younger siblings coming to him for help on homework or food or just to spend time with their loving big brother. Custard’s not as outwardly energetic as Pinkie Pie or as timid as Fluttershy, but he has his mama's outgoing enthusiasm and his mom's gentle kindness, which makes him a very popular pony to be around. Custard has a natural draw to him that makes others gravitate toward him; it's probably his sweet disposition or how much he cuts the fatherly figure to anyone and everyone. Regardless of the case, Custard has many friends, and he makes sure to make time for every one of them.

However, he has so much of a giving nature that sometimes he might spread himself far too thin, making it easier to burn himself out on accident. He can be a bit of a pushover and while he can deal with conflicts fine, the problem usually lies in how he deals with conflict involving himself. If it's someone else, he'll step in when he needs to and try to alleviate the situation. If it's him, he has the tendency to letting whatever the situation is slide and allow the other to place the blame on him, if only to make the conflict end faster. It's not a good practice, and sometimes he lets some serious issues that has been inflicted onto him slide with an "no, it's fine, just let it go". He's usually so busy taking care of everyone else (even when he doesn't need to) that he often ignores his own needs, especially the emotional one. He's the type to contain everything that is bothering him until it becomes too much for him to bear, resulting in something of a burnout or breakdown. He also has self esteem issues; it fluctuates, mostly with its focus being on that he's not good enough for someone (not a good enough brother, not a good enough friend, not a good enough son) and sometimes asks for criticism even when he doesn't need it. It's more out of insecurity and anxiety of wanting to be a better pony than what he already is. Custard's also a little self-conscious about his weight; he's rather plumpy for his height, and while he has quite a bit of muscle mass on him it doesn't really help his confidence any. 

Custard Pie is a nurturing soul who goes out of his way to make sure anyone he comes across is okay, no matter what they look like or what their social standing is. Despite his insecurities he's a very reliable pony and tries his best to never let you down. He's also the very best at warm hugs (second only to Pinkie).

Next is Primrose Calantha Pie, the second oldest in the brood and 3 years younger than her older brother. Primrose was a lot like her shy mother when she was younger; painfully shy, sensitive, just as soft spoken, and easily startled by many things. Now a teenager, Primrose has gained a quiet confidence in herself and isn't nearly as shy as she once was. That said, she can still be a little hard to get to know, if only because she's a bit reserved by default and doesn't necessarily like to talk much. Some might take her silence as indifference or her deliberately ignoring someone, but that's not the case at all. If anything, she's a bit nervous about starting a conversation and feels like she doesn't really know how to hold one, but once you get past that awkwardness you'll find a very pleasant and altruistic pony to talk to.

She's very sweet and prefers to show her love through action over words, and as such she's a surprisingly physical pony. She'll hug, she'll nuzzle, she'll sidle up and lean against you, she'll give cheek kisses or nose-boops, and she's a huge cuddle bug. If she weren't so vividly interested with gaming development, she'd make a fantastic doctor or nurse. While she might take some things a little too personal (she wears her heart on display at all times, and she emotes pretty vividly to make her for lack of speaking), she's quick to forgive (sometimes too quick to forgive), and she will not tolerate the mistreatment of another pony.

Next up is Kodiak Cristofer Pie, the third oldest of the Pie-Shy brood, 5 years younger than his older brother and 2 years younger than his older sister. Despite being uncannily similar to Pinkie in appearance (even Pinke's a bit baffled by it), he's actually not the couple's biological son. He's the first they've adopted, from an orphanage in Manehatten while on a family trip there. He was such a happy and energetic foal that they fell in love with him, but when they found out the orphanage couldn't keep up with his medical bills the couple decided to adopt him themselves and brought him home with them.

Kodiak, now a preteen, is a very amiable and laid back fellow who just loves to smile. He has a contagious laugh and a charmingly joking personality that draws ponies to him like magnets; it doesn't help that he permanently smells like brownies all the time; maybe it's because he loves brownies and eats them often? Who knows. He's a conversation-starter, he loves to mingle, and above all he loves to make others smile when they're feeling down. Biological or no, he's very much his mothers' son.

Kodiak was born paralyzed in his hind legs, and as such he owns a wheelchair to help him get around and do the activities he enjoys. Generally he doesn't mind, but there's always the nagging feeling that he's being pitied or judged based on his disability, and because of that it might take a while to fully get to know who he is, even if you've known him for a while. And for as much as he is a seemingly social butterfly, Kodiak still needs time to "recharge", and as such he has moments where he wants to be alone to reflect. Because of his laid-back nature, being easy to please, and his optimistic outlook, some may completely dismiss his efforts and work and call him naive, airheaded, stupid, which isn't true but if said enough times Kodiak sometimes allows the comments to take down his confidence. Thankfully with a family like his, it isn't long before he realizes not to listen to naysayers.


And finally we have Sugar Dahlila Pie, the youngest of the Pie-Shy brood and currently the last biological child the couple bore. She's currently a baby, no more than 4 months old, which also makes her the youngest of the Mane 6 kids in general. Fluttershy was the one to carry this little bundle of giggling joy, and while Pinkie of course cried after each of her children were born, Sugar gave her pink mama a start when she first laid eyes on her. It's because she looks so much like Pinkie's long-since passed grandmother on her father's side, her Granny Pie, especially her eyes. You already know Pinkie's father spoiled her rotten for this very reason.

Sugar's the type of baby that laughs at just about anything and everything you do. If you pull a funny face, she'll laugh. If you play peek-a-boo, she'll laugh. If you give her kisses, she'll squeal and giggle and wiggle with joy. She tries to return kisses, but all she usually manages to do is drool cutely on you. She rarely ever gives a fuss or cries, and while she's as curious as a pup she's most happy when in the arms of someone else.

Fun Facts:

-Nicknames are so common in the Pie-Shy household full names are rarely used unless a pony's in trouble. Custard's nickname is a composition of all of his name, which makes Cu T. Pie, although he's sometimes called Viking (because he apparently looks like one with his beard) or Theo. Primrose is called Sweet Pea (courtesy of Pinkie), Sweet Nose (courtesy of Fluttershy), or Rosy. Kodiak is called Kody, KodaBear, KC, Curly Cue, Fuzzy, or Cookie. Sugar's called Sugar Bear, Rollie-Polie, or Giggler 9000 (courtesy of Pinkie).

-Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are both bilingual (Pinkie speaks Spanish and Fluttershy speaks Prench, which is basically french), so all of their children know both languages and speak them fluently.

-Kodiak wants to be a bakery owner when he grows older; Custard's a chef and owns a tiny restaurant he built mostly by himself that's next to the PieShy family home. It's a "hole in the wall", but it's reputable for some downright hoof-lickin good food. Primrose is very inventive and loves to build and create; she's particularly good at fixing vehicles. Regardless, she wants a career in game development.

-Primrose is suspected to selectively mute.

-Primrose is probably the best gift-giver in the house, second only to her mothers.

-Both Custard and Primrose are avid gamers and often join Spike, Discord, and Big Mac in their Oubliettes & Ogres sessions. When talking about games, Primrose is very animated and will speak more than she usually will.

-Kodiak likes wearing bows in his hair. He'll often let Primrose dress him up like a doll and put makeup on him and he loves every second of it; it's a bunch of fun for him and a pretty good boost to his confidence

-Custard has a heart-shaped marking on his chest that extends to his belly, just in case you can't see it.

AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there ya go! The PinkeShy brood, or at least half of it. xD The others I admittingly haven't created yet aside from one, so if you guys would like I'd love your help making them and creating personalities for them. c: Just keep yer eyes peeled on a poll if you'd like to help!
