Description

Another NextGen thing! This time it's of Rarity and Twilight's children, Andromeda (the one with the white hair) and Amethyst (the one with the short hair).

If anyone's curious, Rarity's the one who carried their children. Andromeda's current age is the adult mare whereas Amethyst's age is closer to the foal, if a bit older. Anyway, these two.

Andromeda is the oldest of the sisters by at least 4-5 years, and she's the third oldest of the Mane 6 kids since Rarity and Twi were the last to fully realize their feelings for each other. Andromeda is a lot like Twily in that she's very studious, she's articulate, she's in love with books, she's very intelligent, and she has an addiction to learning. She isn't as magically inclined as either of her mothers and that puts a bit of stress on her for a while, especially toward Twilight given her magical prowess. Not that she blames her mom for it or anything, it's just that she sometimes feels like a disappointment to her in that regard, no matter how many times Twi tells her otherwise. As far as Rarity goes,  Andy actually has a very acute fashion sense, just like her, its just that she doesn't utilize it, particularly on herself (messy ponytail, disregard for her wardrobe's contents, the lack of interest in make up). Ask her what goes well with what, though, and you'll get a breezy answer of well-matched outfits without much effort or thought. That also puts a bit of stress on Andy in that she thinks she's disappointing Rarebear too, but of course this isn't the case. Regardless, it's what she thinks, and because of that she's very studious and hardworking and tirelessly determined to achieve whatever she sets her mind to in order to make her parents as proud as possible. Very little will deter her from her goals, sometimes to the point that she might be a bit obsessive, and her stern, meticulous personality and her want to get everything just right labels her as a stick in the mud by others. She has an intense focus, and when its on a task of great importance she sometimes forgets to take care of herself or even forgets about her immediate surroundings, including others in the room or interacting with her.

Despite her flaws, Andromeda is a generally friendly pony, though she may come off as disregarding or cold at first. She's a great source of advice, whether that be for homework or for personal problems, and she's very unafraid to stand up for herself or for anyone else she deems needs the help (like her uncle, she has an unwavering sense of justice). She's a naturally born leader and isn't afraid to take on an obstacle head on. While not at first, she's learned (mainly through her friends, her mothers, and her sister) that recognizing her errors and understanding that not everyone is like her helps better a situation, and that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses; learning this in turn has made her better able to socialize and make friends easier. While having the intensity of her focus directed to you may seem intimidating at first, it's a comfort to know that Andromeda will stop at nothing to be there for a friend, even if that simply means to sit there and be a shoulder to cry on (it makes her feel awkward and useless, but she'll do it anyway). She's very much the "team mom".

Amethyst, in contrast, isn't quite like the usual personalities of her mothers: she's spunky, she's loud, and she's sassy. But she's also a lot like her mothers in that she's adventurous, she's confident, she's independent, and more than willing to work for what she wants out of life. Amy's very much the "tomboy" of the RariTwi brood (I might make one more sibling, I dunno yet), and she's unafraid to be the very center of attention. If you challenge her to a wrestling match, you'd best be ready to tussle right then and there. If you so much as challenge her to a dare, don't bet on her not doing something you think is too unreasonable or too risky. Amethyst lives for the moment and by George she's gonna make that moment as fun and as glorious as possible. Amy is very much the social butterfly like her fashionista mother, and she can dish out gossip unlike anyone else, but she's more interested in the "now" than the "what happened yesterday". It's because of her very hustle-and-bustle attitude that she tends to get bored easily, and as such she tends to create the excitement herself if she needs to. As a child, that usually meant doing something potentially dangerous (like jumping off of the roof and onto a trampoline or tarzan-swinging from tree to tree with a bed sheet); she gave her mothers and sister heart attacks on a usual basis.

She also sometimes has a hard time focusing on specific things, especially in school. For example, she has a terribly hard time focusing in subjects like classical literature or math, but things like psychology, politics, and history she exceeds in. She's incredibly intelligent just like her mothers, but for all of her smarts she's a poor long-term planner. She's the type to procrastinate not so much because she doesn't want to do the work, but moreso because she's scared to fail or do poorly on the work; this is specifically true in subjects she struggles with. Amy, for all of her bravado of "I-don't-care-what-you-think", is pretty sensitive, particularly to criticism. She's not very good at accepting someone calling her out on her faults, and in addition to that she can be pretty argumentative, which can lead to making a situation worse than what it already was.

Despite her faults Amethyst is still a very good friend and supportive character. She's very observant and can catch a lot of things many don't, especially when it involves others, and as such she's very keen on catching when something's wrong and the first one to ask questions. She has many friends but its because she's genuinely interested in what they think, what they feel, what they do, and she can find that even the most mundane activity can sound amazing when its described with passion (for example, she can listen to a math-enthusiast go on for hours about math, and she hates the subject). Like her sister and mothers, she's unafraid to stand up for herself and is a protector of those who can't stand up for themselves, the only difference is that she will literally fight you if she needs to. She's very practical and her hands-on way of going about things makes her one to take action over thinking and theorizing. Like Rarity, she has an air of showmanship and a performer; she's quite the actor when she wants to be, but more than that she's creative, original, and innovative, unafraid to try something new and try differently if the first method doesn't work.

Fun Facts:

-
Andromeda is OCD, a trait she shares with Twilight.

-Amethyst is very artistic and when she gets older, she wants to go into interior design. This works well in that she can also work alongside her best friend in the world: River Bay, who wants to be an architect when he's older.

-The sisters argue a lot, but despite that they're very close. Amy helps her big sister be more social and often reminds her to take breaks as to not burn herself out, and Andy helps her baby sister with her planning and making her feel more confident in things she isn't good at.

-Amethyst calls Andromeda "Sparkle Butt" because her looks like a night's sky filled with twinkling stars. Andy calls Amy "half-pint" because of how small she is, and "Clover" because she has the same eyes as Clover the Clever.

-Andromeda's huge; she's taller than both of her mothers and twice as heavy with muscle mass. Actually, she's about as tall as Shining Armor, which puts her only a bit shorter than AJ. If she weren't so keen on being an archaeologist, she'd cut a strong soldier just like her uncle.

-In the same breath, Amy's pretty short. She's shorter than either of her mothers, but her size doesn't deter her from throwing down if she needs to kick someone's ass.

-What Andy lacks in magical prowess she more than makes-up for in pure physical strength. She's also a very good alchemist, which is more "physical" magic than energy-based magic. Amy has the potential to be a powerful magic user but she's content with the skill she has now.

-Amy has feathering all over her shoulders, neck, and chest. Andy does not.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there ya go! These two were very fun to design, they were. x3 I hope you guys like them, and feel free to ask me any questions if you have any! ^.^
