Headcanon: Mane 6 by Earthsong9405 Headcanon: Mane 6 by Earthsong9405
EDIT: So I went ahead and uploaded the colored version of this bad boy just 'cause. They aren't completely finished yet, though; still gotta clean up their colors and whatnot, but I can't at the moment so I'll just leave it as is for now. I'll also have it set up so you can just click on their names and it'll send ya to their separate "ref" thing, headcanon and all. C:

I wanted a break from schoolwork, so I decided to start work on a little project of sorts I've been meaning to do for a little while. It's not anywhere near finished, nor is it supposed to be anything elaborate, but this is what I have so far.

A quick.... "sneak peak" of the sketches I'm going to be coloring for the very simplistic references of my headcanon versions of the Mane 6. I always thought it'd be sorta cool if the personality and basic color schemes weren't the only things differentiating the girls from one another, so I've been playing with their overall appearances and body types based on my headcanon of them.

For instance, they are in order from tallest to shortest, going left to right (quite honestly though, the only ones with any significant height differences are AJ, Twi, and Pinkie. The others are roughly the same height). Those with wings have different types of wings, some of the characters harbor scars from the past, Pinkie with feathering on her shoulder, ect. I've already gone into detail for each character in terms of appearance and such. To read it, just click on the characters links below; definitely do this before asking a question here. More likely than not, I've already answered a question about a specific character on their individual deviation.

But yeah. If that still doesn't answer your question or if you wanted to ask something else, feel free to ask. And as always, thanks a bunch for stopping by and looking at this messy doodlesketch thing. C:

Question i probably know the answer to: Why does Pinkie Pie have shoulder feathers? is it because her earlier generation, Surprise, was a pegasus?

I really adore this, I really do (hell, I'm doing a picture right this second of a pegasus with tail feathers and feathery shoulders...I'll credit you when I'm done). I do have a question, though: the single-digit bird-like claws Rainbow Dash and Twilight have near the wingtips (technically speaking) in front of the colorful long feathers they have. I know it looks cool, don't get me wrong, but why do some pegasi/alicorns have them?
