Here it is! Finally colored and completed for the contest. c:
As said before, this is for a contest based around elemental fairies with a twist. I decided to do a mixture of elements, and my attempt at the twist is the type of fairy she is, as well as what she does.
I'm calling her Muladhara, mostly because her element is based on earth and the name itself roughly means earth, but somewhat because the name is pretty cool sounding to me. xD Anyway, I think I know how to sum her up better than last time.
I wanted Muladhara to represent the earth in a almost literal way (and not in the obvious "make her skin green, plants growing from her, melting into grass, ect.) but I wanted it to be more.... subtle. Muladhara is a being of earth, right down to the seasonal changes. Her body reflects these changes, an example being her hair beginning to turn white to signal winter, and her markings being a dark blue color instead of the usual warm green, orange or gold.
Her wings are different from a normal fairy, being made from spider-legs and webs. What did I want it to represent? I think... they show that earth can wield and create beautiful things (like a spider's web), but at the same time, is relatively unpredictable, and can be rather dangerous if one's not careful. *shrugs* Cheesy? Yes, but at least it's there for a reason now.
Her elements change appropriately to match the coming season, and in reflection, she has the elements of Ice/Water, Earth, Wood and Air. Can you name what parts of the pic represents each element? B3
Err..... I dunno if ANY of that makes sense. Probably doesn't, since I suck at explaining. :/ But if ya wanna know something, just ask and I'll try to clear it up.
Strange thing about this piece is, she came out exactly how I wanted her to, only in a different way. Er... well, have you ever sat down and started drawing, and had no clue on how it was going to go? And as you went, the picture sort of... drew itself? Yeaahhhhh.... this is how she came to be. And as it went, her colors kinda did the same; I wasn't really thinking about it, just went with the flow, and BAM! This came out as a result.
Throughout the whole process of completing this image, I wanted it to have a mysterious and eerie feeling to it, almost like anticipating something that's going to happen, but it never does. But I also wanted it to be strangely peaceful and calm, perhaps pretty to look at as well. Let's just hope I pulled it off, huh? :/
So, I honestly hope you enjoy it. c:>

Thanks a bunch! ^^ Actually, now that I'm looking at it, I wanna redo it try to make her more... realistic, at least as far as her face goes. :/ Aw well... I guess this will do until I have time to revise it. x3
