So I couldn’t sleep last night, and to pass the time I did what I usually do until I get sleepy… DOODLE! Aaaaand I drew quite a bit, actually. Among those drawings is this; as part of the art trade between myself and CigarsCigarettes, she asked me to draw Applejack since she’s her favorite pony (and seriously, who could blame her? AJ’s awesome o3o)
All she wanted was snarly, angry Applejack, but I ended up redrawing the four expressions seen in this image: earthsong9405.deviantart.com/a…
I know, I know, the old one’s ugly. Don’t remind me. :C
But they’re redrawn now, so everyone’s happeh! I think of all of them, My favorites are angry AJ and the one on the left. And if anyone’s curious why angry AJ has visible fangs, here’s a little headcanon to give ya some context.
The way I see them, the ponies are omnivorous. Their ancestors before they ultimately evolved into the ponies we know now not only foraged, but also partook in hunting as well. As of now, the equine lean slightly more toward being vegetarian, but they do still eat meat. Their main source of meat comes from small mammals (like squirrels and rabbits, rodents), poultry, and fish. I could go on and on about what, exactly are prey animals in this world, but I won’t ‘cause I’m sure you guys don’t wanna hear me ramble. o3o
Anywhooo, that’s why the ponies have fangs. Real equine actually tend to have fangs that are referred to as “Wolf teeth”, but as far as I know, it occurs mostly in stallions. The fangs in the MLP ponies are seen in every breed and gender of equine. However, like humans, how developed and sharp they are varies from individual to individual, but earth ponies and pegasi tend to have longer, sharper fangs.
Buuuuuut yeah. Not much else to say, and if you see typos, that’s because I’m exhausted. So yeah. Ask questions if you have them, and as always, thank you checking out my stoof. c:
