Description
I’ve been a bit busy with some stuff, but I finally managed to sit down and do a quick (and messy) doodle based on a question I got from the recent Bodyguard!verse AU questionnaire thing. Someone was curious about the relationship between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in this universe, and I was actually gonna draw these two together anyway, so it’s a “kill two birds with one stone” thing. C:
SO! Here is good ol’ Jarl Fluttershy with Rainbow Dash, whom is a part of the Wonderbolts Mercenary group.
These two met when they were nothing but young little foals; Fluttershy the heir to her father’s place as Jarl of Ponyville, and Rainbow Dash a homeless, orphaned street urchin. Their meeting was actually accidental; Fluttershy and her family were on an outing around town when Shy was literally ran into by Rainbow. The filly had been attempting to outrun an outraged merchant after stealing an apple from his stand, but she wasn’t fast enough he ended up injuring her leg. Terrified, Rainbow actually cowered behind the young princess (we’ll just call her princess for simplicity’s sake), and the normally shy and quiet Fluttershy actually spoke up about the merchant’s rash actions before her parents had a chance to. The merchant was then escorted away by one of the Jarl’s guards, and Rainbow was left in the care of the royal family. Seeing how skinny and sickly she was, the family took her in.
From that point on, the two came to see each other as sisters in everything but blood, and even when their paths lead them to different occupations (Fluttershy now being the Jarl of Ponyville and Rainbow being a Wonderbolt mercenary), they still remain in contact with one another. The necklace Rainbow ALWAYS wears is a gift from Shy; it’s of one of the many symbols of the Goddess Alicorn Sisters, something of which Rainbow keeps very close to her heart.
As for the doodle itself, I always thought it’d be super cute that, when the two were greeting each other after a long time apart, they’d do a “secret” hoofshake; an affectionate headbutt while they clasped hooves. x3
